“If you’re considering a coach, stop looking, just call Alex.
Alex and I worked together for 7 months leading up to my first Half IM.
He works you hard but he tailors the program to your needs. I’m a dad and I travel for work. He made sure I prioritized what needed to be prioritized to be ready for my race.
I also used Alex for a couple of additional services including swim and running technique. I can’t understate how important that was to my performance. My swim stroke became way more efficient, critical for a 1.2 mile swim. His feedback on my running reduced a great deal of pressure on my knees that was starting to grow as the distance picked up.
Unfortunately, I had to see him for PT due to an unrelated injury that kept me out of the pool for two months. He adjusted my training regimen and then helped me ease back into swimming at distance.
Finally, and I can’t underscore this enough, his race day prep was exactly what I needed to perform MY best race. We spent an hour talking through how to approach each discipline, what to focus on during transitions and how to keep properly fueled and maintain the right target HR through each phase.
Alex and I happened to be in the same race (and he is way faster than me) and he was waiting outside transition and at the finish line to cheer me on. I’m looking forward to working with Alex again!”

“I have been an endurance athlete for 40 years. I began doing Olympic distance triathlons at age 35. In July, at 74, I completed my seventh Lake Placid Ironman. I
like to think I know a little bit about the sport of triathlon. In 2023, I tore my meniscus and was directed to Alex to oversee my rehab. He took immediate interest in my goals- to heal and be back racing in 2024. The rehab was a typical mix of ups and downs. Alex was with me all the way, cheering my successes and encouraging me when I hit roadblocks. He quickly became a coach as much as a Physical Therapist.
Alex’s athletic background as a Division 1 Swimmer and an experienced triathlete was incredibly helpful. As he has competed in triathlons at all distance, including the Ironman World Championships, he is able to relate to the sport’s physical and mental challenges. His suggestions for tweaking my workouts were born of both a knowledge of my body as well as a first-hand understanding of the demands of the different disciplines and distances. To be successful in this sport you need a coach who understands both the athlete’s mind and body as well as the technical aspects of training.
Over the years I have working with professional triathletes and sports training companies. Alex’s knowledge of the sport plus his knowledge of the athlete’s body and the demands the body can handle make him unique. As I age up to the 75-79 age group, I take great comfort in knowing Alex will be in my corner. I would strongly recommend Alex as a coach to any triathlete look for a caring and knowledgeable guiding hand.”
